About Me

Ever since I was a teenager, my work has focused on expanding opportunity and creating the conditions for people to become the fullest expression of themselves. This work has spanned education and economic development, health and human services and the arts, all through a social justice lens.
Over the course of my career, I’ve (co) founded four non-profits, most recently serving as the Founder and President of the California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) where I spent 13 years driving systemic change at scale in California’s public schools.

I’ve guided philanthropic clients in the development of their  investment strategies, supporting the work of both direct service and policy-focused organizations, nurturing the development of networks, and building capacity in their field of interest.

Continuous Learning

Along the way I’ve consistently invested in my own learning. I completed a Masters in Urban Planning (1999) and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (2011) from UCLA. More recently I’ve become a certified council facilitator, completed the Ulab program through MIT online, and am continuing my studies of somatic trauma healing modalities.
